Joseph Lee, MD - Estes Park Medical Center

Dr. Joseph Lee’s inspiration to become a doctor came from his father, a pediatrician. “He grew up in a poor, rural town in South Korea,” Dr. Lee says, “He was raised in a traditional Asian culture. He cared about others and wanted to help his family and community…These values were imparted to me.” In his practice, Dr. Lee focuses on internal medicine and builds relationships with patients built on understanding. “I always try my best to understand my patients. I know that I’m not always successful but if they know that I am sincere and come to trust me—that’s a relationship that’s very gratifying.” Dr. Lee believes that the most important thing he can do for his patients is to inform and advise. “I’m pretty direct and I like to teach. I want my patients to know about their health and then let them decide from there.” After patients make a decision, Dr. Lee supports their choice. When he’s not working at the clinic, Dr. Lee loves to spend time outdoors. “I am an avid rock climber and I like taking rides on my motorcycle” he says. He plans to climb the Diamond on Longs Peak one day.
