Physical and Occupational Rehabilitation | Stony Brook Cancer Center

Physical and Occupational Rehabilitation for cancer patients is offered both on an inpatient and outpatient basis. The primary goal of physical therapy and occupational therapy is to improve a patient’s functional capabilities. All referred patients receive a detailed assessment by a therapist followed by an individualized treatment plan that incorporates the goals of patient and family. Close communication is maintained with referring physicians throughout the course of care. Education on staying active during and after cancer therapy also is available.
